Nelly Furtado will release her next album The Ride next year, and she's just unveiled a new video for lead single "Pipe Dreams."
The new record finds Furtado working with John Congleton, who is primarily known for working with more alternative-leaning artists like St. Vincent, David Byrne, Modest Mouse, Sleater-Kinney and Alvvays — and "Pipe Dreams" serves as a promising introduction to their creative collaboration.
The accompanying video mashes up lo-fi VHS-esque clips of Furtado reflecting on herself — both literally by looking in the mirror — and more figuratively by pensively pacing around an old house.
