Neko Case

Recorded in 2003, this Austin City Limits concert features a humbled Neko Case performing eclectic original and cover songs. Case begins the television taping by expressing admiration for the program, admitting she’s a bit jittery to be there. The nervous energy subsides quickly, as Case, Kelly Hogan, Jon Rauhouse and Tom V. Ray effortlessly bring classics like "Favourite,” "Deep Red Bells” and a yet-to-be released "Maybe Sparrow” to life. Inspired covers include live staple "Hex” by Freakwater’s Catherine Irwin and a fun "Buckets of Rain” by Bob Dylan. Case’s bashful banter rarely charms the audience but her beautiful performance definitely does.
