Back in August, Neil Young detailed his plans to open up an interactive timeline component of his Neil Young Archive, allowing listeners to view "every single, recorded track or album I have produced." Now, Young has revealed when the tome will appear online.

As he revealed in a recent Facebook post, the Neil Young Archive will open on December 1, the same day that his new Promise of the Real-assisted LP The Visitor will see release.

Alongside the timeline component, fans will be able to stream Young's music free of charge "in the highest quality your machine will allow" through his Xstream music service. As he notes in the post, "It's the way it's supposed to be. In the beginning, everything is free."

You can read a note from Young about the archive project here.

The albums Live at Massey Hall, Harvest, After the Gold Rush and Greatest Hits are all available on vinyl through Umusic.
