If you're not sure what to buy for the music nerd on your Christmas list, then your job just got a little easier. This week, Warner is releasing Gift Wrapped II: Snowed In, a Christmas compilation featuring a slew of high-profile artists contributing original songs, as well as holiday standards.
Among the highlights of the 21-song collection are Tegan and Sara performing "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)," a live version of the Flaming Lips' "Little Drummer Boy," and Oasis's take on "Merry Christmas Everybody." Neil Young and his wife Pegi Young also guest on Ben Keith's "Les Trois Cloches." Original tunes are contributed by Devo ("Merry Something to You"), Regina Spektor ("December") and others.
The album is out now digitally. It won't be receiving a standard physical release, although Hot Topic will be carrying a different version of the album called Gift Wrapped: Stocking Stuffer. Another version entitled Gift Wrapped: A Change In Season will be released to independent retailers.
