Published Jul 22, 2014This fall famed Canadian environmental campaigner David Suzuki will be spreading his message across the country with his Blue Dot Tour. To help attract attention to the good cause, the Vancouver activist is bringing along a host of Canadian musicians and other artistic figures.
The shows on this coast-to-coast trek are billed as "An Evening with David Suzuki." It's being called his "last national tour," and musical performers who appear at various dates include Neil Young, Feist, Grimes, Metric members Emily Haines and Jimmy Shaw, Blue Rodeo members Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, Joel Plaskett, Jenn Grant, Bruce Cockburn, Royal Wood, Our Lady Peace frontman Raine Maida, Barenaked Ladies, Chantal Kreviazuk, Raffi, Kinnie Starr and more.
Some of the non-musical guests include Margaret Atwood, Shane Koyczan and Robert Bateman.
See the tour dates below, and scroll past that to watch a video for the Blue Dot Campaign. Note that the performers listed above only play at select shows, so go to Blue Dot's website for more show details and ticket information.
The tour's goal is to encourage municipal declarations to uphold Canadians' right to live in a healthy environment. This includes "clean water, fresh air, healthy food and a say in decisions that affect us."
