In Neil Young's flurry of activity before the end of 2020, planned Crazy Horse live album and film Way Down in the Rust Bucket did not see release. Now, Young and his long-running outfit have given the project a new release date.

Initially slated to arrive in December, both the Way Down in the Rust Bucket film and double album will now see release on February 26 through Reprise.

Way Down in the Rust Bucket captures a Young and Crazy Horse performance from November 1990, when the group played to an 800-person crowd at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz, CA. The show took place two months after the release of Ragged Glory, and shortly before the group hit the road on tour with Sonic Youth and Social Distortion.

Ahead of time, Young is previewing a video of "Country Home" on his Neil Young Archives website. "This show is one of my all-time Crazy Horse favorites," Young wrote. "More songs will be added here before the official release."

Way Down in the Rust Bucket will follow the arrival of Young's massive Archives Vol. II, live album and concert film Return to Greendale and a 50th anniversary reissue of After the Gold RushRecently, Young sold half the rights to his songwriting catalogue and shared his thoughts on the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Young's most recent record with Crazy Horse remains 2019's Colorado, while his most recent solo album is 2016's Peace Trail. In December, Young wrote to a fan on his Archives site, "I have started a new album. It's solo. I've been waiting a long time."
