Neil Finn Branches Out with Pajama Club
Since reuniting in 2006, late '80s/early '90s stars Crowded House have released two new albums, mostly recently last year's Intriguer. Apparently, this output isn't enough to satisfy frontman Neil Finn, however, as the Kiwi songwriter has announced that he's dropping a record with a new group.

The band are called Pajama Club, and they feature Finn's wife Sharon plus electro whiz Sean Donnelly and touring drummer Alana Skyring. They will release their self-titled debut album on September 13 via Lester/Redeye, with a press release calling the collection "a mix of gritty, garage rock grooves and electronic bleeps and squelches, topped off by Neill and Sharon's back-and-forth vocals."

The band were named after Neil and Sharon's relaxed jam sessions at home, which provided the early genesis for the project. Neil then fleshed out these jams into songs, and Donnelly added electronic textures. The resulting LP "bursts with a joyous, free spirited energy at every turn," according to the PR.
