"Getting on Home"

As previously hinted, it's going to be a busy summer for Vancouver pop punks Needles//Pins. The group's debut LP 12:34 for Mammoth Cave Recording Co. comes out this Friday (June 1), they head out on a Canadian tour the following week, and sometime this July they will have issued a new seven-inch for La-Ti-Da Records. While the release date for the mini-platter has yet been set in stone, the band have just offered up the A-side, "Getting on Home."

Like past tracks, "Getting on Home" is a scrappy anthem pairing singer Adam Solomonian's scratchy vocals with jumped-up and jubilant garage rock arrangements. Producer Felix Fung (Mode Moderne, Chains of Love) makes the song sound extra huge, however, by tossing some slippery echo chamber tones onto Solomonian's mid-song cries.
