Necrosphere

Revived

For Italy’s Necrosphere, I have some hope. It’s obvious they can play, have both groove and song structuring sense — picture Morbid Angel meets Diatribes-era Napalm Death meets Testament — and a couple neat ideas up the sleeves of their leather jackets (the extended samples that actually become parts of songs are a neat twist). However, their problem isn’t so much with their sound as it is with their "metal or death” attitude. I’m saddened (well, not really) to say that if they don’t approach future progression by trying to do something remotely unique, as opposed to doing something a few hundred underground metal fans might check out, then we’ll be hearing nothing but the same old same old from these guys. Shame.
