Nas Reveals Plans for New LP
Despite last year's Distant Relatives collaboration with Damian Marley, Nas hasn't released an album proper since his controversial Untitled set back in 2008. Well, the rapper is ready to get back in the saddle with his next solo LP. And, no, it isn't the long-rumoured Lost Tapes Part Two.

The Queens rapper doesn't have a name or a release date for the disc quite yet, but he admits he's in a clearer headspace than when he tracked the thematically heavy Untitled.

"The last record I did was, I was in a different place than I am now," he told Billboard. "Now, I'm happy to express that different place and I'm just happy about music. I'm watching everyone do their thing, young guys, women, artists just doing they thing."

Nas cites Lil Wayne, Odd Future and Drake as some of the younger artists inspiring him on his forthcoming record. With so much young blood out there, Nas is excited to step up his game.

"It's something that threatens my position," he says of newly emerging artists. "Or it makes me question what I'm going to do next. What kind of impact do I want have now that I've been in the business this long. It's a challenge, it's scary even. But I'm very comfortable. I'm excited to see what comes out of  me... I'm ready."

Though there isn't much of a concept to his next set, Nas says his creative juices are flowing.

"My new album that I'm working on is free flowing," he said. "At this point, there's not one concept that sums up the whole record. I'm just flowing."
