Back to conducting brilliant interviews after undergoing heart surgery earlier this year, legendary Canadian music journalist Nardwuar the Human Serviette spent last week taking in the sights and sounds at SXSW. His first interview to surface from his week in Austin sees him catch up with producer and Snapchat king DJ Khaled.
Revealing that it was his first time at the festival, Khaled spoke to Nardwuar about DJing with real vinyl, hiding his mixtapes in pairs of shoes while working at Champ's Sports, and how he chose to leave his job as a busboy after winning a DJ competition. Nardwuar's gifts to Khaled included a signed Public Enemy CD and a wealth of records, including a copy of Perfect Pussy's Say Yes to Love, much to the delight of the band's Meredith Graves.
