Napalm Death Announce Substantial North American Tour

BY Keith CarmanPublished Feb 18, 2009

Time flies when you're blasting grindcore.

Has it really been 27 years and 12 albums? According to genre creators Napalm Death, it certainly has. The release of latest full-length effort Time Waits For No Slave is their 13th overall. The album was officially released by Century Media on January 23 but is just now beginning to pick up steam.

Comprised of 16 tracks (plus a bonus tune for those who pick up the digipak version), Time Waits For No Slave was produced once again by Russ Russell, who has helmed the board for the band's past two outings: The Code Is Red... Long Live The Code and Smear Campaign . At some point, the band will shoot a video for the album's title track, so keep an eye out for that.

But there's bigger news for fans of cacophonous bellowing and inhumanly fast drum beats. In order to keep the ball rolling, the band have announced a massive headlining North American tour. The 36-date tour is a must-see for extreme metal fans, as Kataklysm, Toxic Holocaust, Abigail Williams and Trap Them have all been confirmed as support.

Singer Barney Greenway seems excited about the tour, saying "The lineup for our North American headlining tour in April is stellar and personally, I'm especially pumped to see Trap Them on the bill, as they have restored my faith in extreme music generally. Us? We'll be pushing the 'go' button again and hopefully blazing away like it's 1986 all over again - fast, faster, faster still."
