Napalm Death

Napalm Death are champions of extreme metal, and this set proved brilliantly why they deserve every accolade they receive. While vicious noise isn't the first thing that the general population might think of when they picture a transformative moment, Napalm Death created something transcendent on the Maryland Deathfest outdoor stage. From "Silence Is Deafening" to "Suffer the Children," each blast of music was an ecstatic release, punctuated occasionally by Barney Greenway's gracious, terribly sophisticated banter. All around, metalheads thrashed their bodies and grinned, holding on to each other, their faces blissful. It was perfect.
