Nadja and Pyramids Team Up for Collaborative Album with Members of Cocteau Twins, Mineral, Khanate

The folks at the increasingly eclectic Hydra Head Records are gearing up for yet another collaborative release, this time between Toronto's ambient metalgazers Nadja and like-minded Texans Pyramids.

Some of us being old-school emo dudes, we're stoked on the disc's presence of Chris Simpson (ex-Mineral), but there are plenty of other reasons to be stoked, as the album also includes contributions from former or current members of the Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil, Der Blutharsch, Dysrhythmia, Behold the Arctopus, Khanate, O.L.D. and others.

The album, simply called Pyramids with Nadja, is set for an October 27 release on both double LP and CD. And considering it's a double LP and the complete tracklisting is a mere four songs, we're guessing the result is going to be, well, ambient metalgaze.

Nadja's last release was their disc of cover tunes, When I See the Sun Always Shines on TV (though the busy bodies have snuck in few more records while we weren't looking), which was released earlier this year. As for Pyramids, their last effort was 2008's self-titled debut.

Pyramids With Nadja:

1. "Into the Silent Waves"

2. "Another War"

3. "The Sound of Ice and Grass"

4. "An Angel Was Heard to Cry Over the City of Rome"
