Published Aug 12, 2011Yesterday (August 11), epic Icelandic rock group Sigur Rós had everyone scratching their heads over a mysterious trailer for something called Inni. While speculations for what it could be included the possibility of a new album, or maybe a new film, today we can confirm that it's the latter.
The Playlist points to Venice Days -- an offshoot of the Venice Film Festival -- announcing Inni as a "surprise film event," though that still doesn't quite clarify what exactly the project's all about. What has been revealed, however, is that the film was helmed by director Vincent Morisset, who put together the Arcade Fire's 2008 documentary Miroir Noir.
While the flick could just be a tour documentary in the same vein as travel doc Heima, it's possible that Morisset's involvement in the "film event" could mean we're in for something bigger. After all, the director has a rep for his interactive web work.
Though we still don't know exactly when Inni's coming, uh, outie, the Venice Film Festival begins August 31.
