Mystery Jets

"Telomere"

English rock troupe Mystery Jets make their return early next year with their new Curve of the Earth LP, but before it officially lands in retailers, they're teasing the set with a single. You can sample airy and austere album track "Telomere" right now.

The song is a slow-burner built around spacious piano, various atmospherics and the pleading, near Thom Yorke-style vocals of Blaine Harrison. That said, despite the open territories of the tune, Mystery Jets add a bit of extra energy on the track with the constant presence of a solid, though skittery six-string pattern.

You can hear "Telomere" below, while Curve of the Earth touches down January 15 via Caroline International. The band's last full-length was 2012's Radlands.
