My Empty Phantom

"Forever" (video)

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Nov 18, 2016

Nicaraguan-American composer and multi-instrumentalist My Empty Phantom (a.k.a. Jesse Beaman) is gearing up to release his debut LP Collection of Memories I / II  later this month, and before it arrives, Exclaim! is proud to give you a first look and listen at what's to come with a video for album cut "Forever."

Shot and directed by Carlos Wong while on tour around the United States, the video pairs Beaman's flighty sonics with one continuous take of the artist walking outside a venue in Champaign, IL. Feeling that music represents "fragments of memory," Beaman and Wong's visuals convey such an idea with a shaking, slow motion frame rate and soft, unfocused streetlights in the distance.

Collection of Memories will arrive on November 25 through Pedro y el Lobo, with pre-orders available through iTunes here

Tour dates:

11/19 Tijuana, Mex - Cine Tonala
12/09 Brownsville, TX - BAM
12/10 Dallas, TX - RBC
12/16 Austin, TX - Mohawk
