MUTEK Details Announced

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Apr 16, 2008

Montreal’s annual celebration of all sounds electronic, MUTEK has announced the full program for its ninth edition. And as always, the festival will be gathering some of electronic music’s finest at this year’s event, running from May 28 to June 1.

For five days, headlining artists from across the globe such as Christian Fennesz, the Field, Carl Craig, Tim Hecker, Radio Slave and Modeselektor will be rubbing shoulders with up-and-comers and a barrage of panelists in Montreal’s downtown core. Of the 50-plus performances, 16 will mark Canadian or North American premieres, again making MUTEK the continent’s leading destination to absorb 1’s and 0’s in all their digital glory.

Tickets for the festival go on sale today at the MUTEK website and through the Ticketpro network, as well as Atom Heart (364 Sherbrooke East), MOOG Audio (3828 St. Laurent) and Hostelling International Montreal (1030 Mackay). The MUTEK_PASSPORT, which gains you access to all performances, is going for $165. Weekend_Packages, which include all showcases running from May 30 to June 1, will set you back $95. And if you would rather pick and choose which shows make up your MUTEK experience, tickets to individual shows are available as well. Of course, all passes, packages and individual tickets come with the usual tax and service charges. For further details on tickets, artists, events and updates, visit www.mutek.org.
