Vancouver noise punk trio Mutators have announced they've called it quits. The band, who were a central force in Vancouver's "weird punk" underground, have announced via their MySpace page that they are no longer together.

In a blog post titled "MUTATORS R.I.P." the band said the following: "Hey everyone, thanks for the good times, shows, hang outs, parties, etc., and thanks to everyone who ever helped us book a show for tour or sleep on their couch... it has been fun. Brody now plays in Deep/End, Because, Sex Negatives. Justin now plays in Random Cuts, Sex Negatives. Lief does... stuff."

It does not appear that the band will be playing a last show, but Secret Life, their amazing full-length, is still available from Nominal Records .
