Billy Bragg, Braids, Tegan and Sara Weigh In on Landmark Alberta Election

Yesterday (May 6), the NDP won a majority government in Alberta's provincial election, with leader Rachel Notley scoring a decisive victory and toppling the long-reigning Progressive Conservatives. This is massive news for the province and for the country, so naturally lots of musicians had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

Seemingly without exception, these artists voiced their support for the NDP and praised Alberta's voters for making a change. Some of the artists who commented on the election hail from Alberta, but others come from around Canada. The news even made waves internationally, with British political songwriter Billy Bragg congratulating the NPD.
