Music Waste Announces Line-Up

BY Brock ThiessenPublished May 11, 2009

After receiving more than 300 band submissions, Vancouver's most ambitious yearly music event, Music Waste, has revealed its 2009 line-up. From June 9 to 13, West coast music-makers such as Japandroids, No Gold, Gang Violence, White Lung, Modern Creatures, Fine Mist and way more bands than we could possibly list here will take over the city's east side, with this year's five-day event offering up 25 shows, nearly 100 bands and, for the first time, comedy revues and art exhibitions.

Like every year, festival passes are going for a mere $15 a pop, with entry to each individual show being no more than $5. For information on where you can pick up a wristband you can visit Music Waste's newly made-over website here.

Along with the inclusion of Art Waste and Comedy Waste, this year the festival has enlisted comedians/writers/actors Conor Holler and Craig Anderson (Bronx Cheer), along with Cam McLeod (Man Hussy), to make a series of web commercials/sketches to promote all the awesomeness that is Music Waste. Each will feature one of six Vancouver bands and be released during the lead-up to the festival. You can watch the first featuring White Lung below (which we recommend you do), and gear up for more with Japandroids, No Gold, Nu Sensae, Kellarissa, and B-Lines.
