Music Less Popular Than Porn, Movies, TV in 2011 Torrent Downloads
We all know that physical music sales are plummeting. Well, it turns out that music downloading isn't all that popular either -- at least not compared to movies, TV and porn.

In a year-end feature by TorrentFreak, the website examined the most frequent search terms from the popular resource Kickass Torrents. It turns out that just one of the top 50 most popular terms was music related, with Adele coming in at number 44.

So what beat out Adele for BitTorrent supremacy? Most of the top searches are unspecific, and the top 3 includes "ita" (short for "Italian"), "french" and "2011." The most popular specific search is Thor, which came in at number 9. A number of other movies and TV shows also cracked the top 50. And, of course, porn was a big hit in 2011; some of the top searches include "xxx" (number 5), "porn" (number 19), "sex" (27), and "playboy" (number 33).

Although the music industry's single entry may seem a bit low, it's actually higher than last year. Billboard points out that Eminem was the most popular music-related search of 2011, and he came in at number 47.

We're a little conflicted about these recent BitTorrent statistics. On the one hand, at least the music world isn't being ripped off as much as some other industries. But wouldn't it be nice if music was as popular as naked people?
