The Music

The Music

As everyone knows, receiving loads of attention from the UK press means diddly-squat everywhere else. Currently the most interesting band in the UK, Leeds' the Music are making big waves and it is well deserved. They have forged a sound based on the baggy dance of the Stone Roses with an emphasis on the classic riff rock of Led Zeppelin (Their singer even sounds like a young Robert Plant). And while that combination might put off some, it's surprisingly exhilarating to hear. It will likely come down to a love 'em or hate 'em situation for most, because their talent can be misconstrued. But the Music's raw, futuristic rock requires time and patience if the love isn't instant. Once you give them a chance, you'll be singing "Take The Long Road And Walk It" till kingdom come.
