The Muffs Return with 'Whoop Dee Doo' Album, Share New Song
The last news we heard regarding Kim Shattuck fell under the "bad" the category, as the '90s indie rock player had been booted from the Pixies after replacing Kim Deal. Fortunately, however, the news comes with a silver lining, as she's returned to her former project the Muffs and completed a brand new album.

Rounded out by bassist Ronnie Barnett and drummer Roy McDonald (also of Redd Kross), the Muffs will release a new record called Whoop Dee Doo.

The album's artwork, available above, has us feeling all kinds of nostalgic, simultaneously channelling the '90s and the '50s with some quirky fonts, a funny image and an argyle backdrop.

New song "Up and Down Around," a shuffling four-minute singalong, can be streamed below. The track proves that the Muffs haven't lost any of their ability to write punchy, poppy tunes.

Whoop Dee Doo will be available on July 29 via Burger Records and Cherry Red.
