MuchMusic's 'The Wedge' Gets Cancelled Yet Again

An institution in Canadian music is once again no more: MuchMusic's classic indie-centric music program The Wedge has been cancelled.

This news comes from the host himself, Fucked Up singer Damian Abraham. Today (July 9), he tweeted the following:

The long-running music video program launched in the early '90s. It was initially cancelled in 2010 but was relaunched in 2011 with Abraham as the host. Frustratingly, though, it was met with a barrage of schedule changes over the years, never staying in one slot for long.

It's unclear exactly when the cancellation will take effect and if there will be any further episodes, but Abraham's message sounds fairly definitive, so we're guessing there won't be any sort of goodbye program.

If that's the case, the show went out on a high note, since Mac DeMarco guest hosted last week's episode.
