Considering Christmas is just a few sleeps away, we expect at least a couple more indie rock-approved holiday songs coming down the pipeline, and up next is Mountain Goats' acoustic take on "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." Honestly, though, this one's a little unsettling.
The tight shot of John Darnielle's face leaves little to the imagination, focusing hard on every twinge and nuance as he alternates between passionate grimacing and staring dead centre into the camera. Just as things get unbearably tense, though, the video editors superimpose some snowfall, and the camera pans out to reveal a few devotees crouched around the folkster to enjoy his seasonal song.
