Mountain Goats main man John Darnielle has been known to share the occasional demo on Twitter, and to celebrate recently passing 40,000 followers, he just uploaded a new one called called "All Devils Here Now."
He wrote that this song "shares psychic & geographic space with all the other stuff I was writing about in 2002 & 2003," and added, "The bugs you hear are actual Iowa bugs outside the window where I was recording."
According to posts from the Mountain Goats message board (including posts by Darnielle himself), the tune has been floating around in live form for close to a decade. Check out the demo right here.
