Published Dec 02, 2010It's been more than two-and-a-half years since we first told you of Lemmy, the documentary on legendary Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister. The film debuted at SXSW earlier this year and enjoyed a brief life at other festivals, but chances are that the majority of Lemmy fans haven't had a chance to check it out. Thankfully, the film is being given a DVD release.
The film won't be out in time for Christmas, but you wouldn't have wanted to ask for it anyway, as the full title is Lemmy: 49% Motherfucker, 51% Son of a Bitch. Instead, Lemmy will be available on February 15 as a double DVD, with four hours of bonus material. It will also be available on Blu-Ray and as a digital download.
Prior to the DVD release, the film will be getting a wider theatrical release in January. The exact locations and dates are to be announced, and we're hoping that Canada is included on that list.
For now, fans who haven't seen the flick can check out a clip of Lemmy's cluttered L.A. apartment below courtesy of Rolling Stone.
The new year will also see the release of Motörhead's 20th studio album, The Wörld Is Yours. According to the band's official site, the album will be released on January 25.
