New Brunswick-based art-rock trio Motherhood have shared a new single "Wandering," and mapped out a summer tour of Canada and the UK.

"Wandering" is part of a set of songs centred around a protagonist who is thrown into a dark cloud and ends up at the beginning of time. While the first of the set, "Dry Heave," was a dark and frightening song about getting thrown by a storm, "Wandering" is the character's appeal to the cloud after centuries of wandering.

"Originally, this character assumed they were placed at the beginning for a reason but, as years go by, no reason appears and the idea of spending all of time as a witness becomes increasingly terrifying," said singer Brydon Crain in a press release.

Although still a dark theme, "Wandering" is pleasantly catchy and draws influence from bands like the Kinks and Zombies. Check out the animated video by Montreal-based artist Amery Sandford below.

Having yet to announce their follow-up to last year's Winded, the band will take their new set of tunes on the road this summer, with Canadian stops mapped out in Fredericton, Quebec City and Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, in addition to an extensive UK run. See the schedule below.
