More Posthumous J Dilla Material Unearthed for 'Give 'Em What They Want' 12-Inch

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 16, 2014

While we continue to wait for the posthumous J Dilla album The Diary, fans can tide themselves over with another 12-inch that's associated with that long-lost collection. Give 'Em What They Want is due out on May 6 through his estate's Pay Jay Productions.

The five-track EP is being pressed on clear 12-inch vinyl. It includes the title cut (with both vocal and instrumental versions), "The Doe" (also with vocal and instrumental versions) and "So Far."

These songs date back to 2002. An announcement explains that "Give 'Em What They Want" and "The Doe" are based around the same lyrics, but the former was produced by Dilla and the latter was produced by Supa Dave West (who also helmed "So Far"). Scroll past the tracklist below to hear "Give 'Em What They Want."

This is the third record in a series attached to The Diary. It's available to order here.

This follows Anthem and Diamonds & Ice.
