Published Jun 02, 2010Seattle quartet the Moondoggies have spent the last five years honing their brand of "timeless American music," a sound that came together well on their Hardly Art debut Don't Be a Stranger. Now, two years after that 2008 album, the band will own 2010 with a new EP and full-length, as well as a busy North American tour schedule.
The album is called Tidelands, and will see the light of day through Hardly Art on September 14. Little is known about the album yet, but we do know the writing and recording sessions must have been fruitful, as they had enough songs left over for a five-song EP. That release is called You'll Find No Answers Here, and will drop on June 8. While the EP is being touted as a tour-only release, it can be pre-ordered through Hardly Art now. The track "Fly Mama Fly" is available here.
If you'd rather pick up the EP in person, however, the Moondoggies will make that possible with a busy tour schedule this summer. Kicking off in Spokane on today (June 2), the band will explore the United States on tour, including a run of shows with Blitzen Trapper. While Canada remains mostly ignored in that itinerary, the five-week jaunt concludes with two nights at the Winnipeg Folk Festival on July 10 and 11.
