For music fans in search of something out of the ordinary, Montreal ensemble XiFu Sagas will be releasing a new album this month and hitting the road for a trio of release shows. The album called One Last Dance, and it will be out on June 21.

XiFu Sagas are a chamber group featuring compositions by Simon Chung. Their material, according to their press materials, mixes "classical, jazz, modern, and ancient Chinese music." The instrumental setup includes a range of strings, horns, percussion, piano and voice.

One Last Dance is an 18-part "original song suite inspired by the 24th hexagram of the I-Ching 復," which means "regeneration." Its narrative "follows the journey of a lost dancer in search for his destined partner during the winter solstice."

This story is illuminated by a 16-page booklet, which comes with both physical and digital versions, and includes prose, lyrics and illustrations.
