Last year, Montreal's Suoni Per Il Popolo ran from June 4 to 22. In 2015, the self-described "liberation music" festival will return for the exact same span of dates, and the organizers have now announced some of the acts who will be performing.
Among the artists will be J Mascis, who will be appearing twice, both solo and and with his instrumental psych project Heavy Blanket. Other confirmed performers include Colin Stetson & Sarah Neufeld, Matana Roberts, a duo performance from Fred and Toody Cole of Dead Moon, Meredith Graves (of Perfect Pussy), Last Ex, Sir Richard Bishop, Destruction Unit, Tyvek, Brokeback, the Kids, Big Brave, Jooklo Duo, Proxy, Pale Lips, Jason Sharp, Jessica Moss, Christ, Aspects of War, Sheer Mag, the Jeanies, Dorthia Cottrell (of Windhand), Chris Corsano & Mette Rasmussen, Crib Death of the Uncool, Karoline Leblanc & Paulo J Ferreira Lopes, Dave Rempis/Joshue Abrams/Avreeayl Ra, Ryley Walker, Michael Hurley, Myriam Gendron, Puce Mary, Hiss Tracts, Tashi Dorji, Marshstepper, Paal Nilssen-Love Large Unit, Red Dons, the Ex and more.
Complete programming will be announced on March 18. The artists will be performing at Montreal venues including Casa Del Popolo, La Sala Rossa and La Vitrola.
