Montreal's Moonshine Collective Dial Up New Album 'SMS for Location Vol. 5'

Montreal-founded, globally-based collective Moonshine have announced another instalment in their SMS for Location release series.

The Juno-nominated outfit will share SMS for Location, Vol. 5 on December 2 in partnership with FORESEEN Entertainment.

Following last year's SMS for Location, Vol. 4 — which saw Moonshine nominated for the 2022 Juno award for Global Music Album of the Year — Vol. 5 was previewed in June with "Obomi Nga," which you can revisit with the visualizer below.

That track features MC Azas and Moonshine regulars MC RedBul and Uproot Andy, and while a tracklist has yet to surface, a press release points to the Vol. 5 involvement of Pierre Kwenders and Montreal MC Kris the $pirit.

Moonshine are even giving listeners a chance to get in on the SMS action, with a text to +1 514.612.4859 granting access to a pre-release package of music.

"For volume 5, we stayed true to the philosophy of the SMS for Location series. We worked with artists who understand the importance of the magic of the dancefloor while trying to create a musical link between all the musical movements we love," Moonshine Collective share in a statement. "And, in our eyes, from this point of view, it is certainly our most complete project to date."

In September, Kwenders won the 2022 Polaris Music Prize for his album José Louis and the Paradox of Love, which he'll be touring in Canada come early 2023.
