Montreal's Folk Festival on the Canal Announces 2011 Lineup

The name of Montreal's Folk Festival on the Canal is self-explanatory. Over four days, from June 16 to 19, a slew of artists will perform at venues close to the Canal Lachine. Now, organizers have unveiled the lineup.

The main part of the festival takes place on June 18 to 19 at Terrasse St. Ambroise, with performers including Mark Berube and the Patriotic Few, Emm Gryner, Rose Cousins, Fred Eaglesmith, Canailles, Sheesham and Lotus, and David Francey. One-day passes cost $20 before May 30 ($30 after) and two-day passes cost $40 ($55 after May 30).

Also, on June 16, the festival will launch with a gala at the Centre culturel Georges-Vanier. The night will include a performance from the Lovin' Spoonful's John Sebastian. Tickets are $50 before May 30 ($60 after) and are limited to 150 spots.

And on June 17, the festival will host a free outdoor concert at IIot Charlevoix, located at the corner of St. Patrick and Charlevoix. In addition to performances from the Jimmyriggers, Hellbound Hepcats and more, 100 concertgoers will be allowed to camp there overnight.
