Published Nov 09, 2012Montreal electro-pop purveyor Montag (aka Antoine Bédard) is most of the way through his year-long project Phases, which has him releasing a new single each month. Although "Sun Fat Explosion" came out back in September, he's now revisiting that track for a new music video.
Much like the song itself, the clip begins with chaotic dissonance and visual noise. Although the track eventually calms down, the video remains fairly trippy, with lots of fast cuts and digital glitches.
This clip comes via Carpark Records and was directed by Mathieu V. In a statement, the filmmaker explained that he created the visual aesthetic by shooting images, using plenty of effects and then re-shooting them on a cathodic television screen.
