Shocker! Those three lovely ladies in the polka dot smocks in fact didn’t write a note of the Pipettes’ girl group goodness. The man responsible is Monster Bobby, a songwriter from Brighton that does double time playing in the Pipettes all-boy backing band the Cassettes, while plugging away in a basement making short pop songs. Stripped of the glossy production found We Are the Pipettes, this dandy lo-fi ditty shows a link between the two acts, with simple but heavenly pop hooks that show he can work with any kind of set-up — be it three cute girls or just himself.
