Monroeville Music Center

Various Tracks

When Calgary, AB's Craig Storm isn't busy with the maniacal punk of Weird Shits or the addictive garage pop of the Gooeys, he prides himself on an in-depth obsession with vintage synthesizers. That knowledge is applied to the Monroeville Music Center, an instrumental synth project that sounds like Bruce Haack trying bubblegum pop.

Monroeville Music Center has just released a brand new digital album called Generic Product through European label AM Discs. The nine-track release was made entirely out of sounds from the Optigan synthesizer. And in an age where synth obsessives bore audiences with yawn-inducing chillwave loops, it's nice to hear someone having fun with synth sounds.

The release can be purchased here. We've also got the tracks "A003" and "B002" available as a free download here. As an added bonus, MMC's first album, Musique Concrète for Beginners, can be snagged here.
