Mono Announce North American Tour, Set Sights on New LP

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 14, 2013

Long-running Japanese instrumental post-rock outfit Mono will kill two birds with one stone this fall when they come out to North America to both record a new LP and head out on tour.

The band confirmed the news themselves over Facebook, noting that "We've been working on new music and will go to the U.S. to record the first half of our next album in November." It's unclear at present where exactly the band will be tracking their follow-up to last year's For My Parents.

What we do know is that Mono's nine-show road trip kicks off at Toronto's Legendary Horseshoe Tavern on November 15, with a second Canadian date going down in Montreal the following night before the act dips into the U.S. While the new studio release is presumably a ways off, it might be an idea to head down to one of the gigs if you can as Mono "may very well be offering a preview of some new songs."
