Coming back for a third edition, Mud City Meltdown will take over downtown Moncton, NB, this summer, promising its biggest event to date. As such, organizers have now revealed the acts set to play the festival in 2017.

The event will take place from July 25 to 30, with a new outdoor main stage at Riverfront Park, to boot. On board will be artists such as Daniel Lanois, Iron Giant, Les Hay Babies and Les Hôtesses d'Hilaire, the Monoxides, Violett Pi, Olympic Symphonium, Marc à Paul à Jos, the Galpines, Stephen Lewis, Amateur Trahan and more.

While Lanois will headline the festival main stage at Riverfront Park on July 29, another as-yet-unannounced headliner will take the stage on July 28.

UPDATE (5/30, 4 p.m. EDT): It's now been revealed that Headstones will headline the fest on July 28.

"Adding a venue of this magnitude is huge for us as we're now able to look at bigger names to take part in the festival, which will hopefully attract more people from out of town to come experience what the region has to offer in the summer," festival coordinator Xavier Léger said in a statement.

Along with all the music, there will be an educational component to the festival, with plans for free workshops and panels.

Tickets for the Lanois show will go on sale on May 24, while general tickets and passes will arrive on May 26. You can get more info on the festival website.
