Mogwai to Hit Canada on North American Spring Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jan 30, 2012

The last we heard from Mogwai, life kind of sucked for the revered post-rockers, as they postponed tour dates twice -- first because of visa issues, and then due to medical reasons -- and were robbed of thousands of dollars' worth of gear. Well, here's hoping that 2012 gets off to a better start for the Scottish outfit, since they just rescheduled their North American tour.

Following a smattering of European dates, the outing launches in our continent in Vancouver on May 29. From there, they'll travel through the U.S. and make their way to Montreal on June 17 and Toronto the day after. See the full schedule below.

In a message posted to their official website, the band's Stuart Braithwaite apologized for the previously cancelled tours and wrote that this latest jaunt "will likely be the last extensive touring we do for some time so we hope it will be a very special tour."

Does that mean they'll be taking some time off to write and record the follow-up to Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will? Time will tell.
