Modest Mouse's Isaac Brock Composing Music for New 'Queens of Country' Film

Modest Mouse released We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank back in 2007, and the last we heard from the Pacific Northwest indie rockers, they had struck up an intriguing collaboration with Big Boi. Well, it turns out that frontman Isaac Brock is also working on a separate project: composing the score for the upcoming movie Queens of Country.

The film is being written and directed by Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke, a pair usually known for their music documentaries. They've previously spearheaded Blood into Wine, Moog and The Heart Is a Drum Machine. Brock was an interview subject in The Heart Is a Drum Machine, which asked "what is music?"

This latest flick stars Lizzie Caplan and Ron Livingston, who are joined by supporting actors Joe Lo Truglio and previous documentary subject Maynard James Keenan. A press release reports that "the film centres on Caplan's character Jolene and a lost iPod, which the obsessed country music fan is convinced belongs to her soul mate. Jolene quickly finds herself in a hilarious adventure of mistaken identities, line dancing competitions, time machines and doppelgangers."

Post-production recently finished, and the film and soundtrack are expected to arrive in 2012.
