Modest Mouse Announce Canadian Tour

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jun 3, 2014

Long-running major label indie rock band Modest Mouse have been hinting at a new album and follow-up to 2007's We Were Dead Before This Ship Even Sank for years now. It's unclear where they're at in the recording process, but the band have announced plans for a Canadian tour.

Bookended by festival performances at BC's Pemberton Music Festival and Montreal's Osheaga, the run of shows sees Isaac Brock and co. headlining shows from Alberta to Ontario, playing such cities as Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Winnipeg and Toronto along the way.

For the trip, Modest Mouse will be joined by Broken Social Scene frontman Kevin Drew, as well as Mimicking Birds. Check out the full itinerary, which also includes a few U.S. dates, below.

When it does finally surface, the new Modest Mouse album is expected to include appearances from Big Boi and Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic.
