Mister Heavenly

Live with Michael Cera

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Dec 2, 2010

It's been a big week for Mister Heavenly. On Tuesday (November 30), the supergroup, featuring members of Man Man, Islands and Modest Mouse, announced their Sub Pop debut. That night, they played their very first show and brought out geeky teen-dream actor Michael Cera to play bass. As cool as that news was, most of us had no idea what the band sounded like.

Last night (December 1), an overzealous fan filmed the group's second show ever, which took place in Portland, and thanks to the magic of blogs, the whole thing is already online.

While the screams in the crowd, pre-show, might have had more to do with Cera's presence onstage than for the rest of Mister Heavenly, who cracked wise on the Barenaked Ladies at one point, the band have a sort of light carnival, by way of classic rock, vibe that could prove pretty catchy on disc. We don't have any clue what these songs are called, but check out a couple of clips below courtesy of Pitchfork.

And, yes, somewhere in here there is a Keanu joke.
