Missy Elliott Returns with New Song and Video, Teases Documentary

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jan 27, 2017

Once prolific hip-hop champ Missy Elliott made us all think that 2016 was going to be her year when she dropped the raucous "Pep Rally" a full year ago. Rather than follow through with more aural treats, however, she instead decided to destroy the Ghostbusters theme. Now, months later, she's back with some more promising material.

Elliott has teamed up with Lamb on a hot track called "I'm Better." With its minimal synths, AutoTune and triplet verses, the song's extremely timely. That said, Missy sounds absolutely at home on the track.

Making matters better, the song is accompanied by a video that features some bonkers dance moves and plenty of ridiculous, larger-than-life costumes. Watch the video and stream the track below.

Missy isn't being stingy with new content, either. In addition to the new video, she's shared a trailer for a forthcoming documentary. While the film doesn't have a title or release date just yet, you can watch its trailer below. As long as she doesn't butcher another beloved theme song, 2017 really could be Missy Elliott's year.
