Misra Records Returns with Free Comp

Misra Records Returns with Free Comp
Since its formation in 1999, Misra Records has played a pivotal role in launching the careers of indie greats like Destroyer, Phosphorescent, Great Lake Swimmers and Centro-matic, among many others. Unfortunately, the label was essentially on hiatus for all of 2010, but it has now announced that the imprint will return to the record biz with a slate of exciting releases set for 2011.

According to an announcement from the label, the year will kick off with releases from Southeast Engine, the Black Swans and Sleeping States, followed by several other releases. The label is now being distributed exclusively by Bloodshot Records.

To celebrate its return, Misra has released the Mira Legacy Compilation, a free album with selections from their back catalogue. The songs were handpicked by members of the Lemonheads, Deer Tick, Deerhoof, the Wrens, Wooden Wand, Drive By Truckers, Male Bonding and more. The compilation can be downloaded here or streamed here.
