Miracle Fortress

"Seabird" / "Tropic of Canada"

Montreal-based outfit Miracle Fortress are releasing some tracks that didn't make it on their 2011 album, Was I the Wave? We've already heard "Gestures" and "Possession" and now Miracle Fortress offer up two more songs, called "Seabird" and "Tropic of Canada."

Graham Van Pelt further describes the digital releases on the Miracle Fortress site:

I'm pleased to be able to offer two more tracks here before the summer is out.  "Seabird" and "Tropic of Canada" were written concurrent with Was I The Wave?, towards the end of 2010.  To those who attended any of the Miracle Fortress performances around that time, you might remember my performing these songs by making use of a looping pedal to build up the vocal harmonies heard in these arrangements.  I'm very glad these recordings are available to you now, and hope you'll continue listening as more material comes to light. I'll be touring the UK and parts of the continent this September supporting Was I the Wave? which comes out September 5th on Republic of Music (see the shows section for more details).

You may have heard that PIAS has lost its Enfield warehouse in a fire. This was the company that Rough Trade worked with to distribute my first record, Five Roses, in Europe.   Many copies of that record have been destroyed, along with countless more from several labels.  My thoughts are with the many more labels and artists affected, and those affected by the violence there…
