Miracle Fortress

"Possession" (video)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Oct 18, 2011

Earlier this year, Miracle Fortress main man Graham Van Pelt issued a few extra online-only tunes that didn't end up finding a home on his stunning Was I the Wave? One of the songs, "Possession," was unveiled back in June, but the Montreal-based artist has now released a video for the track as well.

Amidst a score of icy synths, straight-forward drum machine beats and Van Pelt's softened falsetto, the video screens images of the progression of a young couple's relationship, from early dates to passionate nights spent together to the birth of a child.

A press release describes director Tim Kelly's clip as "a stirring portrait of a young and real Montreal family on the verge of a new life, lovingly framed in an austere panorama of the city itself."

Of the video, Van Pelt added, "In my opinion he's [Kelly] nailed the song, its feel and intention perfectly."

Miracle Fortress will also be playing a handful of dates until the end of the year. You can see the schedule below.
