Published Feb 28, 2013SXSW is right around the corner, and this means that labels are finalizing the details of their showcases at the annual music extravaganza in Austin. This includes Vancouver's Mint Records, which has partnered with Riot Act Media for a free day party on March 14.
The show, which is sponsored by Exclaim!, will run from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cheer Up Charlie's. The currently confirmed acts include fun-loving punks Nardwuar and the Evaporators with Andrew W.K., pop weirdo Sean Nicholas Savage, indie icon Lisa Marr's Cub Sing-a-Long, and aphrodisiacal disco songwriter Renny Wilson. Also on the bill are Torres, Brass Bed, Deaf Club, Pony Time, Dana Falconberry and the Blank Tapes. More performers will be announced in the coming weeks. (Despite the poster, Shout Out Out Out Out unfortunately won't be able to perform.)
In case these performers weren't already enough of an incentive to show up, Mint and Riot act will be offering a limited supply of free PBR beer.
