Mint "They Don't See" (video)
Toronto-based musician Kaye Hamilton is usually kept busy fronting indie pop outfit Persian Rugs, as well as Floppsy B & the Sugarstarkidd, but she's also been cooking up some electro-pop jams under her solo Mint moniker. She's set to unveil a brand new video for "They Don't See," and Exclaim! has got the exclusive premiere.

The clip was directed and edited by Hamilton herself, along with some shooting help from her partner Adam Trozzolo. Prior to the filming, two of her cameras broke, taking the video in a slightly more lo-fi direction.

The result is a dreamy haze of colours and trippy imagery. A turquoise-haired Hamilton sways and sings to the camera, as shots of aquarium life and city streets are chopped up and superimposed.

In a statement about the clip, Hamilton said:

The idyllic imagery of the aquatic life is juxtaposed against the jarring shots of the city; however, in reality, the aquatic imagery is not very beautiful because the aquatic creatures are confined and trapped within the aquarium. The video represents the dissatisfaction and anxiety I feel in my life, feeling trapped in the city and within a certain lifestyle and cycle. It's about misperceptions and having the ability to see things.

Mint's debut EP is slated to arrive tomorrow (February 24), but right now, you can watch the video for "They Don't See" in the player below.
